You can do what the federal government won’t: fund resettlement. Help a local office to keep their doors open and their lights on.
On January 27th, the Trump Administration suspended West Virginia’s resettlement program. No new refugees will arrive in West Virginia until the pause is lifted.
Last year, West Virginia welcomed 21 refugees. This year, West Virginia is on track to welcome only 4–over 80% fewer refugees. All of these refugees were resettled before the Trump Administration took office; following the Administration’s suspension, arrivals have stopped entirely–decreasing by 100%.
